Looking for holiday inspiration this Autumn? If you want the low-down on which luxury hotels are top of the celebrity wish list, be sure to watch ITV this weekend to see the resort putting the X in X-Factor.

As fans of the show will know, X-Factor 11 is hotting up. The controversial six-seat challenge returned last weekend having lost none of its shock tactics. Duly whipping the Wembley audience into a frenzy, the scenes were reminiscent of a coliseum crowd baying for the blood of a fallen gladiator in ancient Rome. No, really.

At times it seemed like life and death for the judges too. Pantomime boos threatened to approach something far more sinister when Cheryl refused to give a chair to crowd-favourite Chloe Jasmine.

But what’s this? Chloe escorted back on stage by a typically bemused and be-clipboarded backstage lackey before being subsequently swapped for another songstress? Rumours hint at a strong word in Cheryl’s ear from ITV producers which prompted the u-turn. Be that as it may, of the 57 acts to have competed in the six-seat challenge only 24 remain as the show enters its next cutthroat chapter: Judge’s Houses.

Scary and Baby hit the beach in Cancun

Flanked by girl power alumnus Emma ‘Baby’ Bunton, ‘Scary’ judge Mel B has whisked her category – the Boys – to Cancun to sing for her affections in the sun. There, as well as getting to holiday with two fifths of the Spice Girls, the boys also get the added bonus of being put up in the truly amazing Occidental Grand Xcaret resort. Tune in this Friday at 9pm for a unique glimpse of just how impressive this resort is. Nestled in its own private cove of powder-soft sand and boasting five pools plus eleven bars & restaurants, Occidental Grand Xcaret more than matches X-Factor in the glamour stakes.

Judge’s Houses always generates a lot of interest. Indeed, shrewd viewers have come to regard it as a travel show of sorts; a who’s who of holiday resorts as much as vocal talent.

Keeping it Caribbean, Louis Walsh and mentees the Groups will find themselves at Fairmont Hamilton Princess resort in beautiful Bermuda. And what an inspired choice that is, Lou Lou! This majestic harbour-side property is named after Queen Victoria’s daughter, and promises to splash the X-Factor proceedings with more than a little regal splendour.

Judge’s Houses this year gets an all-new 3-show airing, with programmes for the first time broadcast on Friday as well as Saturday and Sunday. 11 million viewers are expected, all of whom will no doubt be mesmerised by the tropical luxury of the featured resorts.

So, as the next crop of hearts are broken and the X-factor contestants go from 24 to 12 in preparation for Live Shows, don’t forget to look over the shoulder of these weeping wannabes and check out the wonderful resorts they’re standing in; you could be looking at your next holiday!
