Want to see some cycling brilliance before the start of the London Olympics 2012? Then travel to the exquisite  Malaysia from 24 February – 4 March 2012 to experience Asia’s major cycling event that will take place in the seven Malaysian states!

Le Tour de Langkawi is ‘Ready for the World’ this year and has received many accolades from the International Cycling Union. It is a sport that we all learn to do when we are younger and my love for it still exists now. I especially love how countries such as the Netherlands have really pioneered this simple activity and loved riding my cycle to work every day when I lived there.

The beauty of this tour lies in its devotion to showcase the many talents of Asia’s emerging cyclists, many of whom are in Malaysian cycling league teams, who might not always have a chance to shine.

World – class talent can be expected as the 2011 LTL champion Yonnatta Monsalve and 2010 champion Venezuelans José Rujano, who is known for his efficient timing, will be competing again to improve their current stance.

If not following all the stages in the race, you should not miss the Genting Highlands Climb, which is the 6th stage in the race and is followed by a steep 215 km stage seven from Bentong to Kuantan.

Want more from your Malaysian holiday? The town of Bentong also features the beautiful Chamang waterfall or the Hot Springs, which is great for soothing those tired muscles caused by your 9 – 5 lifestyle. Or have a wander to the colourful city of Kuala Lumpur where I absolutely recommend visiting one of the original Chinatowns as well for great bargains as the Jamek Mosque for its spectacular architecture.

What is your favourite sporting event? What are you most looking forward to at the London Olympics? We want to know!
