We’re in the final two months of Expo 2020 Dubai, which draws to a close on 31st March 2022, and there’s never been a better time to visit. To give you a good idea of what makes this such an unmissable event, our own Operations Manager Reena is sharing her experience of this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.

What is Expo 2020 Dubai?

Expo 2020 Dubai is an incredible exhibition where more than 190 countries from all over the world come together to showcase the very best of their culture and innovation. Likely the only time it will be hosted in Dubai in our lifetime, this is the first World Expo to be held in the Middle East, Africa and South Asia (MEASA) region, as well as the first to be hosted by an Arab nation. Every World Expo is a masterpiece of innovation and ingenuity, and Expo 2020 Dubai is no exception, boasting an attention to detail and breadth of imagination beyond your wildest dreams.

The wonders to discover are beyond counting…but we’ll do our best to give you an idea of what to expect, share some of our personal favourite attractions, and provide tips for having the most fantastic visit possible.

At Expo 2020 Dubai, the myriad offerings of the contributing countries are arranged into Country Pavilions, displaying the architectural and artistic marvels of the world in utter splendour. Within these pavilions you’ll discover the pride and joy of entire nations: food, music, dance, fashion, technology, shopping and so much more. Whether you have favourite countries and cultures already, or are looking to get inspired for the sheer variety the world holds, the Expo 2020 Dubai is guaranteed to please. On the 10th February, even Prince William is planning to visit Expo 2020 Dubai, ready to enjoy UK National day in style with the wonders this exhibition has to offer.

Every day, around 80 events take place at Expo 2020 Dubai, providing opportunities for entertainment and discovery no matter your interests. You’ve no risk of going hungry, either: with over 200 culinary delights to discover, Expo 2020 Dubai is certain to delight any ‘foodie’ looking to sample the delights of the world. Every Country Pavilion has something to try – Swiss chocolate, Belgian beer and waffles, and many other iconic foods and beverages from around the world are just waiting for you to taste.

Our top pavilion picks: recommendations from Reena

Our Operations Manager Reena had an amazing time at Expo 2020 Dubai and isn’t shy of telling you why. “There’s so much to see and learn that you could go to the same pavilion twice and learn something new every time! I would definitely say you have to pay a visit whilst in Dubai. It’s an experience like no other.”

As for her recommendations: “My favourite pavilions were Saudi Arabia and UAE,” she claimed. “The technology and visuals they presented were incredible.”

Other pavilions Reena enjoyed include Switzerland, Belgium and Egypt. She also had fond things to say about ‘Irish village’: “It’s not one to miss. Who doesn’t love a good Guinness or Baileys to end the night? They even show the footie!”

Of course, with so many to choose from, we encourage you to discover your favourite pavilions for yourself. Are there any countries you want to visit, or that you’ve visited and remember fondly? Your Expo 2020 Dubai trip is a great opportunity to learn more about your favourite and most personally inspiring destinations across the world…and there’s not much time left to do it.

Our tips for your Expo 2020 Dubai visit

Take your tips from someone who’s been there and seen it herself: Reena is happy to share her pointers and advice for getting the most out of your visit to this incredible Expo.

1. Use the Expo 2020 Dubai mobile app to book the smart queue and avoid long waits to get into your preferred pavilions. Installing and using the Expo app is sure to streamline your visit and make sure you get the most out of your time.

2. Take a refillable water bottle with you. There are water stations all over the Expo 2020 Dubai site where you can refill your bottle, so it’s simple to stay hydrated.

3. Make sure to bring comfortable footwear. Sore feet are nobody’s best friend, so plan ahead: wear comfortable flat shoes for your visit.

4. Pace yourself: keep room in your stomach! There’s delicious things to try in every Country Pavilion, so keep some space for tasting.

5. Visit in the late afternoon and evening to see Expo 2020 Dubai in – quite literally – a whole new light. The exhibition grounds will light up around you in a stunning display that’s absolutely not to be missed.

And, finally:

6. If you can, pencil in two or more days for your Expo 2020 visit. There’s so much to discover, and while one day is wonderful, two would be tremendous. The more time you can spend at this once-in-a-lifetime experience, the better.

Time is running out to see this spectacular exhibition for yourself, so don’t risk losing your chance: give us a call on 020 7749 9276 and ask us about your Expo 2020 Dubai trip today.
