3. Viceroy Palm Jumeirah Dubai

Once New York held the title of the world’s most famous skyline, but over the last two decades, Dubai caught up with the big apple. Thanks to the man-made marvel Palm Jumeirah, guests staying at Viceroy Palm Jumeirah Dubai can enjoy room views of the world’s most striking city skyline. See everything from the world’s tallest skyscraper Burj Khalifa to the world’s only ‘six star’ hotel, Burj Al Arab. Viceroy Palm Jumeirah Dubai’s Premier City View Room gives guests a unique perspective on the world’s fastest growing city. Admire Dubai from the floor-to-ceiling windows, or stroll through the sliding glass doors to your private balcony. You’ll see the city, the record-breaking Palm Jumeirah alongside the shimmering Arabian Gulf. These are front row seats to the most spectacular space-age skyline in the world.

TOP TIP: Take advantage of the resort’s beach club for maximum R&R.

2. Soori Bali

Soori Bali is unique. Picture environmentally friendly designs nestled amid Indonesia’s spectacular scenery. Beach, sea, rice fields and mountains are at your doorstep here. We admit that all the rooms at this resort offer spectacular views. Our favourite room, however, is Soori Bali’s Mountain pool Villa because you can relax in luxury beneath the gaze of Mount Bratan: one of Bali’s most spectacular volcanoes.  The Mountain Pool Villa is nestled amid a village-like area of the resort where each home is connected by landscaped gardens and courtyards. So let your hair down and dip into your own private pool, relax on the outdoor lounge pavilion and soak in the soothing sights.  Where else can you admire the juxtaposition of volcanoes and farms from your living room? We’re especially impressed by Soori Bali’s combination of minimal fresh designs, each complimented by a range of luxurious features, whether that’s butler service or the resort spa.

WHAT WE LOVED: The (very private) outdoor shower soon became a holiday highlight.

See the mountains and the countryside from the comfort of your own home when you stay at Soori Bali.

1. Anantara Al Jabal Al Akhdar

When one of the main features is its location, (a vast 2000 metres above sea level overlooking a canyon) incredible sights are guaranteed. Sip a rustic red wine in a restaurant that teeters over the cliff edge, or soothe your soul with spa therapies – each with a look over the gorgeous mountain range below. “Diana’s Point” features at the resort centre, named after a visit by Princess Diana. The sense of seclusion in Anantara Al Jabal Al Akhdar is a luxurious experience, but Nizwa remains close by.  So put your feet up and enjoy your morning tea or coffee with fresh mountain air and jaw-dropping room views.

FUN FACT: Anantara Al Jabal Al Akhdar features the only restaurant in Oman that includes a fort.

Room views of the breathtakingly beautiful Omani mountains.

A scenic spot for yoga: Staying at this resort offers the most dramatic scenery on our list. These are room views like no other.
