Whether it be a complete guilty pleasure or a true crime documentary, combining your love of TV with your passion for travel just got a whole lot easier with a holiday to the real life locations of your favourite shows

The Only Way Is Essex – Sardinia

The most “love-to-hate” British semi-reality TV show is back and instead of hearing that all-too-familiar phrase “no carbs before Marbs”, the Essex clan traded their usual stint in Spain for a debut 23rd series show filmed in the streets of Sardinia. Holidays to Sardinia only mean one thing – a stay at the iconic Forte Village resort complex. Embodying the authentic Italian charm, opt for Forte Village Resort – Bouganville where you’ll reside in luxurious bungalows, lounge around two sparkling swimming pools and make the most out of the brilliant on-site facilities. Snap a few pictures of your Sardinian paradise and it’s guaranteed that your Instagram followers will be “well jel” in more ways than one.

No fake tan needed here – sunny Sardinia will give you the real deal

Love Island – Majorca

Let’s face it – who didn’t spend their summer evenings glued to the TV at 9pm sharp? Who didn’t internally scream “I’ve got a text!” when their phones pinged? Whether you boycotted the show completely or were Team Jack and Dani from the very beginning, the Love Island villa had us all dreaming of a holiday to Majorca. The iconic villa is in a remote location near the town of Sant Llorenç des Cardassar (and of course, Casa Amor) and although unfortunately closed to the general public, I’ve got you covered with the next best thing. Did you know that Park Hyatt Majorca is just 11.4 miles away from the Love Island set? Put all your eggs in one basket with a stay at this gorgeous stonework hotel – it’s so magnificent that I promise you’ll “lose your head” as soon as you step through the front doors.

Keeping Up with The Kardashians – Los Angeles

Yes, it’s really as glamourous as it looks. Now in its 15th season that airs weekly on E!, Keeping Up with the Kardashians follows the lives, fame and fortune of the Kardashian-Jenner family mostly in their home town of Los Angeles. The setting of many a chic reality show such as The Hills and the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, a holiday to Los Angeles is guaranteed to put you directly in the scene of the American elite. A stay at W Los Angeles will enhance the stylish flair of the City of Angels even further – and being just a 30-minute drive away from Calabasas where the Kardashians reside, I bet you’ll even spot the famous KKW herself.

Power – New York City

Okay, technically not aired on TV in the UK but instead released week-by-week on the popular streaming service Netflix, the fifth series of Power has been one of the most anticipated shows of 2018. Executively produced by rapper 50 Cent, the programme tells a rags-to-riches story of James “Ghost” St. Patrick whose life of crime and deceit always finds a way to catch up with him. Although the gritty, nail-biting violent scenes depicted in the dramatic crime series don’t exactly scream luxury New York holiday, the show undoubtedly captures the “city that never sleeps” vibe and you can’t quite help falling in love with New York’s multi-faceted charm. The melting pot of diverse cultures, iconic skyline and juxtaposition between the heart of The Bronx and the centre of Manhattan is enough to make a New York holiday one that you certainly won’t forget. Speaking of unforgettable moments, that’s what Mandarin Oriental New York is all about. With views of the skyline that replicate the ones seen from the St. Patrick’s family penthouse, Mandarin Oriental promises the five-star experience in every way, as well as a perfectly central location to explore the rest of the Big Apple.

A location of many popular films and television shows, New York is a city that knows no boundaries

Game of Thrones – Croatia

One step on Croatian soil will supply you with immediate Game of Thrones vibes, giving you snapshots of the iconic HBO TV show wherever you look. Dubrovnik, Trsteno and Split were all used in on-location scenes including Dubrovnik Old Town which doubles as King’s Landing and Fort Lovrijenac also known as the Red Keep. With plenty of guided tours available throughout Croatia to take you around Game of Thrones’ most popular landmarks, I recommend a stay in the heart of Dubrovnik in order to be as close to the action as possible. Hotel Dubrovnik Palace will be the cherry on top of your Croatia holiday – with the word palace in the title, you already know it’ll be something special. That’s not to mention a PADI certified dive school, a wellness spa and panoramic vistas of the Adriatic Sea gleaming underneath the Croatian sun (winter is still coming though).

Walking through the streets of Dubrovnik is a must for any GOT super-fan
