Anantara Chiang Mai Resort

5* out of 5 stars

As Chiang Mai's only five-star hotel, Anantara Chiang Mai Resort - formerly The Chedi - is certainly has a lot to live up to. With its lotus-filled pools and ponds, cosy accommodation, inspiring atmosphere and stunning design throughout, luxury and sophistication at The Chedi can be found in every detail.

Daylight is abundant in every room of this marvellous hotel. Floor-to-wall sliding glass doors lead to a spacious balcony from which you can peacefully watch the river floating below and soak in the magic ambience of Chiang Mai.

As for dining, the most difficult thing is to decide what to try – everything not only looks, but truly tastes heavenly and delicious. The shady wooden deck of The Restaurant is the perfect place to sample international fare made with flair and precision while the quirky Service 1921 offers both an extensive drinks menu as well as Far Easter cuisine that opens up a whole world of flavours.

The spa offers many exotic treatments, including special Oriental rituals and all kinds of therapeutic massage, rejuvenating beauty sessions and nurturing envelopment rituals. If you are planning to say yes to your loved one in Thailand, Anantara Chiang Mai Resort's dedicated staff will ensure your wedding day is exactly the way you want it to be, and then more.

Please note: There will be renovation works ongoing on resorts premises from 1st June until 31 August 2022. We apologize for any inconveniences caused

Food & Drink

In-Room Dining

Lazy holidays call for breakfast in bed, lunch and sometimes dinner there, too. Stay snuggled up or dine on the private balcony overlooking the Mae Ping and tropical gardens. Fancy pad thai, tandoor lamb or juicy burger? In addition to the In-Room Dining menu, you can also rder anything off The Restaurant’s menus. Consider saving room for something deservedly called a "Chocolate Mess", though - it’s divine. Gluten-free, lactose-free, halal and kosher options are always available, and the culinary team will happily accommodate special requests. In-Room Dining is available 24 hours a day.

Kasara Lounge

This discreet upper lounge is open exclusively to Kasara Suite guests, with a dedicated concierge on standby to fulfil every request. Rest inside on cushy living room couches or outside at shady veranda tables. Enjoy complimentary temptations, from a breakfast buffet to all day refreshments, and then cocktails, wine and gourmet canapés in the evening.

The Lobby Lounge

Every guest is personally greeted on arrival in the open, airy Lobby Lounge alongside the calming pond. Many return throughout the day, easing onto well-plumped cushions for a cocktail or fresh lime soda after temple tours and elephant treks. Others gravitate to this serene spot at dusk to enjoy the live sounds of a Thai percussion string instrument known as a kim.

The Restaurant

Chiang Mai’s cool mornings encourage lingering on this British colonial consulate-turned-restaurant’s tree-shaded wooden deck over tropical fruits and juices, fresh from the oven-baked goods and hot mains made to order. Lunch and dinner are equally East-meets-West, with contemporary takes on a world of classics. The carbonara-filled ravioli arrives with parmesan ice cream and homemade croutons, and the locally raised duck confit is served on a salad of fresh mozzarella, mini tomatoes and orange flesh in a Japanese sake dressing. The Restaurant is Chiang Mai’s only luxury resort serving authentic Indian cuisine including favourites such as murgh makhani, buttered chicken in a tomato-cashew nut sauce. Authentic Korean dishes such as hwaro, self-grilled prime tenderloin and sirloin beef, can also be found in The Restaurant’s menu. Between mealtimes, the shaded verandah beckons for Anantara Chiang Mai Resort’s high tea. A plentiful tower of savoury snacks and sweet treats arrives to accompany Old England’s favourite afternoon sip served in traditional blue and white. To take the edge off any afternoon heat, add a scoop or two of the popular homemade ice creams & sorbets. The Restaurant features live music nightly. Gluten-free, lactose-free, halal and kosher options are always available.
