The renowned Emirate of Abu Dhabi holds many wonders, with so many unforgettable sites ready and waiting for you to discover. Our Senior Marketing Executive, Naina, had the privilege of visiting to see it all for herself and has a lot to say about her trip. Read her interview below to learn about the myriad marvels that await you in Abu Dhabi, within locations like Yas Island, Saadiyat Island and more.

Q: Hi Naina! What would you say was the best thing about your trip to Abu Dhabi?

It’s hard to pick one! Abu Dhabi truly has something for everyone. Each location offers something different, from entertainment to culture, plus fantastic beaches and wildlife. Yas Island is a must if you want to have fun on holiday – you have entertainment parks like Y Waasterworld, Warner Bros. World™ Abu Dhabi and my personal favourite, Ferrari World Abu Dhabi. Saadiyat Island on the other hand has beautiful beaches as well as the spectacular Louvre Abu Dhabi. Also, in the main city area you have the stunning Qasr Al Watan.

Q: What was your favourite of the locations you visited in Abu Dhabi?

It’s a bit hard to choose honestly. For me, Saadiyat Island stands out, as the natural beaches are just so stunning. But no matter where you go there are amazing sights on offer, so it really is hard to pick.

Q: Was there anything that really surprised you about Abu Dhabi?

I thought it might take a while to get from A to B but actually, all of the locations were a short drive away from each other, meaning I could fit in quite a few activities into my trip. I know I have mentioned them already, but the beaches really are spectacular.

Q: You visited Al Ain city too – how was it?

Al Ain city was amazing to visit for a day trip. It’s about 2 hours from Abu Dhabi, and the drive was super scenic. It goes through the desert, so I spent the whole time enjoying views of the stunning dunes. The city is home to Al Jahili Fort, which is the largest fort in the UAE. I also went to the Al Ain Palace Museum, which was home to the founding father of the UAE and the first President of the country, Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan. Plus, you can’t miss the beautiful Al Ain Oasis. Al Ain in general is called the Garden City, and I can see why – it’s picture-perfect.

Q: Is there a specific location in Abu Dhabi you’d say is best for families?

Definitely Yas Island. With all the theme parks there, there’s so much for families to do plus a beautiful beach. There are great family-friendly hotels as well like THE WB™ Abu Dhabi and Hilton Abu Dhabi Yas Island, which both have fantastic kids clubs, family-friendly facilities and you also receive x1 free Yas Theme Park ticket per person, per day.

Q: Is there anywhere you’d recommend to foodies?

Honestly, pretty much everywhere in Abu Dhabi is good for foodies! You can find cuisines from all over the world, and all the resorts put tons of effort into the restaurants. There’s a really fantastic Dine Around programme too, where if you stay in a participating Marriott International hotel and purchase the package, you can dine at over 80 restaurants in Abu Dhabi. It’s called the Dine Around by More Cravings Half Board package. If you can’t imagine a holiday without delicious food, it’s the package for you.

Q: Is there anywhere you’d like to visit next time you come to Abu Dhabi?

Yes definitely. I didn’t get to see the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque, which is in the Grand Canal area. It’s one of the biggest mosques in the world and a complete work of art. I’ll definitely be sure to visit there on my next Abu Dhabi trip.
